The number 770 refers to this real place from which study and transmission radiated throughout the world. The crown that surmounts it reminds us that true greatness is internal: it is built through self-mastery, not through display. אמת — truth — gives direction to the whole: an emblem is only valuable if it says something true about the person who wears it. The entire Chabad spirit is there: bringing light into the concrete, even down to the way one dresses.
